Prospective Social Health Postgraduate Coursework Students

Graduate Diploma in Social Health Entry Requirements

OR

OR

(1) an accredited Aboriginal Health Worker Diploma, or equivalent professional qualification and at least 2 years relevant work or professional experience; or

(2) an accredited Aboriginal Health Worker Certificate Level 4, or equivalent professional qualification and at least 4 years relevant work or professional experience;

AND

(3) Documentary evidence of competent academic or professional writing skills.

The Selection Committee may conduct interviews and tests and call for referee reports and employer references to elucidate any of the matters referred to above.

 

Graduate Diploma in Social Health Course Structure

Course Structure: A total of 8 coursework subjects: 3 core compulsory subjects plus 5 elective subjects as indicated below. Students who are accepted into the Graduate Diploma of Social Health can elect to either:

Master of Social Health Entry Requirements

The Master of Social Health is offered as both 100 points and 150 points to accommodate students entering the course with different levels of academic and professional expertise and experience. The Master of Social Health can be undertaken in full time or part time mode.

All applicants eligible for registration with the Nurses Board of Victoria or with equivalent professional qualification, but without a degree in a health related discipline, must submit either of the following:


Articulation to Master of Social Health from Graduate Diploma of Social Health

After completion of 4 postgraduate subjects of the Graduate Diploma of Social Health at a level of at least H2B, students may apply for admission to the 150 points Master of Social Health and apply for transfer of completed subjects.

Master of Social Health Course Structure

Master of Social Health (100 points):

5 coursework subjects: 4 core subjects and 1 elective subject, plus minor thesis.

Master of Social Health (150 points):

9 coursework subjects: 6 core subjects and 3 elective subjects, plus minor thesis.
