Health Care History

The History stream within the Social Health program will appeal to those interested in tracing the social and cultural history of health and disease and analysing the historical influences on a range of contemporary biomedical and public health interventions. This course will provide you with a thorough and sophisticated understanding of the history of health care. You will gain an understanding of the biological influences on historical development and an understanding of the cultural framing of epidemic and chronic disease in Western and Non-Western societies.
