Health Policy

The Health Policy stream within the Social Health program will provide you with relevant knowledge, method and analytical skills for effective policy practice in a range of institutional contexts. The course will provide a critical understanding of the specific institutional, political and economic factors contributing to the development, implementation and evaluation of health policy. Although the primary focus will be on Australian health policy, the subjects within the course will draw on the international health policy literature and include a focus on comparative health policy studies, and cover health policy development and implementation in other regions. You will also be able to undertake electives that focus on specific themes within health policy such as Aboriginal health and women's health.
